The ceaseless search for the charms of nature that Quinta do Candal provides
was a highlight that emerged the need to create the right infrastructure to habit this magnificent place. Located in the land of the black clay in Bisalhães, placed in a descending topography drawn by land steps and green spots by a mix of pine forest, vineyard and vegetable gardens.
The concept for the project development was based on a possibility that offers a different product in the region, allowing its guests to practice agricultural activities in rural areas and acquiring knowledge of local produce manufacture and traditional cuisine improving the preservation of traditions and cultural enrichment.
The project adopts an overall idea consisting in small volumes that emerge from the land steps always respecting the same typology. In addition to the T1 and T2 typologies, the development has common areas of service and leisure like a reception, breakfast room, bar, swimming pool, and is prepared to receive disabled people.
The materialization of the constructions was studied in order to obtain the smallest impact on the surroundings only possible with the use of materials in great abundance in the place such as wood and stone.
All accommodation units have sanitary facilities, “kitchenette” and all the necessary equipment to provide in rural environment the comfort that the urban space provides us.
